"Gemello 1968 Santa Clara Valley, Saratoga Ranch Cabernet /1 bottle in stock/corroded capsule, base neck fill."
"From The Underground WineLetter: From the end of prohibition into the 1970s there were very few producers of wine in Napa and Sonoma and even fewer in other areas. Gemello?s, which ceased to exist many years ago, made Cabernet Sauvignon from vineyards located in Santa Clara County south of San Francisco. It was one of the best Cabernet Sauvignon producers in California. And, the old Gemello?s Cabernet Sauvignons (and particularly the 1968s) have been great since the very beginning. John Gemello, an immigrant from Turin, Italy, founded the ?Gemello Winery? in 1934 in Mountain View, California. He produced some excellent Cabernet Sauvignon from the Monte Bello Vineyards as well as others from Los Altos. Unfortunately, when his son, Mario, retired in 1982, he sold the winery to his niece, who renamed it Obester Winer"
